Jamaat, NCP does not want elections: Rumin Farhana
BNP International Affairs Assistant Secretary Barrister Rumin Farhana has said that Jamaat-e-Islami and the NCP does not want elections. According to her, they want the current government to stay in power and continue enjoying its benefits.
She made the remarks at a rally in Brahmanbaria on Friday, October 31.
She was scheduled to address three separate rallies from evening to night in Joydharkandi and Telikandi areas of Sarail upazila. Rumin Farhana is seeking BNP nomination for the Brahmanbaria-2 (Sarail–Ashuganj) constituency.
She said that conspiracies are being hatched over the election. “There are attempts to delay the election scheduled for February. Other parties apart from the BNP want to postpone it for their own interests. They will take all the privileges they can by siding with the government. But you must not fall into any such conspiracy. The election must be held in February. If it is not held in February, we will not accept it,” she warned.
Addressing the NCP, Rumin Farhana said, “These 15–20-year-old boys are claiming they’ve done everything. You boys are barely 20 days into adulthood! The time it took our leaders and activists to serve in jail is equal to your age. Move forward if you wish — but don’t try to go ahead of your fathers.”
