Jamaat wants to turn Bangladesh into Afghanistan: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that Jamaat-e-Islami wants to turn Bangladesh into Afghanistan.

He made the remarks on Monday morning, February 2, while carrying out public outreach activities in his constituency in Thakurgaon.

He said Jamaat-e-Islami does not want Bangladesh to move forward and is trying to turn the country into Afghanistan.

Mirza Fakhrul said Jamaat does not want women to work and wants them to remain confined to their homes.

Referring to a recent post from the Jamaat ameer’s X account, formerly Twitter, he said that if the ameer made such misogynistic remarks, it was completely wrong.

Stating that an opportunity has emerged to build a justice-based state, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the BNP wants a fair and inclusive electoral environment involving all political parties and is working towards that goal.

Calling on voters to take the right decision, he said the country is now in the hands of the people and there is no room for mistakes.
