Jamaat-e-Islami forms Hindu Wing Committee in Rangpur

The Pirgachha branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in Rangpur has announced the formation of its Hindu wing committee.

Sadar Union unit Jamaat Amir Abdur Jabbar made this announcement during a meeting convened to address issues related to the Hindu community at the Upazila Jamaat office on Friday (October 25).

Maulana Mostak Ahmed, the Upazila Jamaat Amir, confirmed the formation of the committee on Saturday afternoon (October 26).

The event was chaired by Hafez Idris Ali, the Organising Secretary of the Union Jamaat.

Bhavesh Chandra Barman, an assistant professor at Mirzapur Degree College, has been elected as president, while Bijon Chandra Das, identified as a medicine dealer, will serve as the general secretary.

The committee also includes Vice-President Taposh Chandra Roy, a professor at Devi Chaudhurani Degree College; Assistant secretary Sudharanjan Barman, president of Kisamat Jhiniya Songho; and Finance Secretary Prabash Chandra Barman, an assistant teacher at Deuti School and College.

Rangpur District Jamaat Secretary Maulana Enamul Haque attended as the chief guest, accompanied by Upazila Jamaat Amir Maulana Mostak Ahmed, Secretary Mostafizur Rahman, and other leaders from Jamaat.
