Jamaat-Shibir possess looted weapons: BNP candidate Harun
Chapainawabganj-3 BNP parliamentary candidate Harunur Rashid has alleged that weapons looted from a police arsenal are now in the hands of Jamaat-Shibir.
He made the claim during an election rally at Azipur in Chapainawabganj municipality on Tuesday night (January 27).
Harunur Rashid said, “After the evening of August 5, Jamaat-Shibir activists surrounded the office of the Chapai Nawabganj police superintendent. Later, around 2:00am, the arsenal was looted, and the stolen weapons are now with Jamaat-Shibir.”
Addressing Jamaat-Shibir, he added, “Since 1996, the people of Chapainawabganj have rejected you because you are a terrorist organisation.”
The BNP candidate also highlighted his party’s role in the Liberation War, saying, “BNP is the party that declared the Liberation War. Can we forget the history of those who set fire to freedom fighters’ homes and sent women to Pakistani camps? Will the new generation forget this history?”
