Janata Jute Mills in Narsingdi closed sine die
Janata Jute Mills Ltd in Narsingdi has been shut down indefinitely following an attack, vandalism, and looting.
The mill authorities issued a notice in this regard on Saturday a day after the agitated workers of the factory reportedly carried out the three-day attacks.
The notice stated that from 3-6 September, a group of unidentified individuals engaged in riots, unlawful intimidation, and vandalism inside the mills. Under these circumstances, the authorities decided to suspend all production activities at the mill starting Saturday, under Section 12(1) of the Bangladesh Labour Act 2006.
