JaSaD hails Yunus–Tarique talks as key step towards political stability
The Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSaD) has welcomed the recent meeting between Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in London. The party praised the dialogue and consensus-building efforts, stressing that people want real progress in reform and justice not just words.
In a statement on Friday, JaSaD President A S M Abdur Rob and General Secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmud Swapan called the high-level talks a key milestone toward political consensus, peaceful power transfer, and democratic continuity.
The leaders highlighted the possibility of holding elections before Ramadan next year, contingent on visible reforms and progress in holding the current fascist government accountable — steps crucial for political stability.
The JSD reaffirmed that the core demands of the people’s uprising include structural reforms to restore democracy and trials for genocidal fascist forces. Visible progress on these issues is essential for credible elections.
Finally, the JSD called on political parties, workers, professionals, and civil society to work together to quickly draft a ‘National Charter’ aimed at fundamental political reform.
