Members of the District Lawyers' Association have announced a boycott of three courts in Jashore. The decision was made at an emergency meeting of the lawyers' association on Wednesday, March 4, citing a deteriorating situation with the judge of the Acting District and Sessions Judge's Court.

Lawyers stated that it is not possible for an acting judge to ensure desired services for litigants. Without full authority, the acting judge cannot provide complete legal services. This creates distance between lawyers and judges, affecting those seeking justice. Additionally, they complained about the behaviour of Acting District and Sessions Judge Ireen Parvin.

District Lawyers' Association President Advocate Syed Saberul Haque Sabu confirmed that the boycott of her court has been decided from Wednesday itself.

The decision also includes a boycott of Ireen Parvin's court as Additional District and Sessions Judge (First Court). Following a previous decision from the same meeting, the court of Joint District Judge Rasheduzzaman has also been boycotted.

Earlier, Additional District and Sessions Judge-1 MM Morshed had been serving as Acting District and Sessions Judge for some time but was transferred to Dhaka last week. Subsequently, Additional District and Sessions Judge-2 Ireen Parvin was given charge as Acting District and Sessions Judge.

Lawyers clarified that their grievance is not regarding granting or denying bail. They allege that Ireen Parvin lacks knowledge of the law and is unfit for the position of District and Sessions Judge.
