A group of dissatisfied job seekers blocked the Shahbagh intersection on Friday (July 4), demanding a re-evaluation and republication of the 44th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination results.

The demonstration began around 5 PM, as candidates expressed frustration over what they claim is an unfair and incomplete result.

According to the protesters, it is customary for 400 to 500 additional posts to be added before the final results of each BCS cycle are published. However, in the case of the 44th BCS, although additional posts were reportedly recommended by the district administration, the final decision remains pending at the Chief Advisor’s Office.

"Approximately 60% of the posts have been recommended again, which should not have remained vacant," said one candidate. "Yet the final results were published without including those posts."

The protesters are calling on the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) to re-evaluate the results and publish a revised version that reflects the inclusion of all eligible posts.

The blockade has led to heavy traffic congestion in and around the Shahbagh area. Law enforcement officials have been deployed to the scene to maintain order and manage the situation.
