Journalist Kamal Uddin Majumdar made MD and Editor-in-Chief of BSS
Journalist Kamal Uddin Majumdar (Sabuj) has been appointed as the Managing Director (MD) and Editor-in-Chief of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
The order was issued through a notification of the Contract and Foreign Employment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday (April 7).
According to the notification, the appointment has been made on a contractual basis for a period of one year from the date of joining.
However, there is a condition that he should renounce his employment relationship with any other profession or organization.
Kamal Uddin Majumdar is a well-known name in the country's journalism world. In his long career of several decades, he has held important positions in various leading media outlets. Recently, he was the editor-in-chief of the daily Desh Pantar. Earlier, he also served as the president of the National Press Club.
Kamal Uddin started journalism in the English newspaper Daily News in 1985. Later, he also worked at the news agency UNB and BSS. He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in English language and literature from Chittagong University and is originally from Banshpara village in Chhagalnaiya upazila of Feni.
