Journalist's body found under bridge in Khulna

Police have recovered the body of journalist Wahed-uz-Zaman Bulu from the basement of pillar no. 2 of Khulna's Pir Khanjahan Ali (R.) Bridge (Rupsa Bridge).

Wahed-uz-Zaman Bulu's body was found under the bridge four months after his wife went missing. Earlier, his wife Eliza Parveen Liza went missing on May 11 this year. They did not have any child.

Family sources said that they had a family dispute over the sale of their ancestral house.

SI Bellah Hossain of the Naval Police Rupsa Outpost said that Bulu's body was recovered around 7pm on Sunday (August 31).

He said that Bulu was wearing blue gabardine pants and a sky-blue T-shirt. His right hand and face were damaged.

The PBI and CID teams are trying to determine the exact cause of the death. Senior police officials also visited the scene.

Journalist Wahed-uz-Zaman Bulu was a permanent member of the Khulna Press Club and a former leader of the Khulna Journalists Union. He was working as a senior staff reporter for Sangbad Protidin. Apart from that, he has worked with repute in several media outlets, including the Daily Janmabhoomi and the Daily Probaho.
