Journalists call protest programme to meet 21-point demand
The journalist community has called for a nationwide protest to meet 21-point demands, including speedy trial of all journalist murders, including the Sagar-Runi murder case, and reinstatement of dismissed journalists.
The programme will be held simultaneously across the country on Saturday (November 1) at the initiative of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ).
A protest rally of journalists will be held centrally in the capital at 11 am in front of the National Press Club under the joint initiative of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and the Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ).
Journalists from various media outlets, including BFUJ and DUJ leaders, will participate in the rally.
During this time, they will speak demanding ensuring fair wages for journalists, trial of journalist torture, implementation of the ninth wage board, formation of the tenth wage board, and protection of journalistic freedom.
