Joy demands justice for former Chhatra League leader in Rajshahi
In a recent Facebook post, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, has urged for the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the individuals responsible for the murder of Abdullah Al Masud, a former leader of the Chhatra League at Rajshahi University.
Masud had recently become a father to a baby girl on September 3.
Masud was attacked while he was at a pharmacy near his home, seeking medicine for his newborn daughter on Saturday night at Binodpur bazar, located near Rajshahi University.
He sustained critical injuries and was subsequently taken to a local police station. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Masud was pronounced dead around 12:30 am.
“At the time of his death he pleaded for a drop of water, but he did not get it," Joy alleged in the post.
Joy, former ICT Adviser, alleged that Masud had been targeted before. According to Joy, Masud had his leg amputated in 2014 while he was a student at Rajshahi University, and his remaining limbs had their veins severed.
He expressed prayers for the eternal salvation of the departed soul.
