Joyeeta reception held in Muladi on Begum Rokeya Day
A reception for the Joyeeta award winners, along with a rally and discussion, was held at Muladi of Barishal to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Begum Rokeya Day 2024.
The event took place on Monday (December 9) at the Upazila Hall Room.
The ceremony was chaired by Upazila Executive Officer Md. Nizam Uddin; special guests included Dr. Syedur Rahman, Health and Family Planning Officer of Muladi Upazila Hospital; SI Mohammad Momin Uddin of Muladi Police Station; and Women Affairs Officer Shahreen Afrin.
Among the five women honored, Safiya Khatun, wife of Abdul Khalek Hawlader from Ward No. 5 of Muladi Municipality, received the award as a successful mother; Shrabani Akter Nipa, daughter of Muladi Union Chairman Kamrul Ahsan, was honored for her economic success; Tamanna Afroze Baby, wife of renowned businessman Kamrul Ahsan Jewel from Muladi, received recognition for her success in education and employment; Tanzila Akter, wife of renowned social worker Mohammad Abu Bakar Munshi of Muladi village, was honored for her remarkable contribution to social development; and lastly, Hosneara Begum, wife of the late Zakir Hawlader from South Terchar village, was awarded for overcoming the horrors of abuse and starting a new life with renewed determination.
