JU student's hanging body recovered

A student's hanging body has been recovered from the Jahangirnagar University residential hall. The body was found in room 413 of the university's Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq Hall at around 2:30pm on Wednesday (March 18).

The deceased student has been identified as Arup Ratan Kanisk. He was a student of the university's 50th batch of the Department of Archaeology. Arup Ratan's village is Narayanganj. He was a residential student of the hall.

According to hall sources, Kanisk was found hanging in room 413 this afternoon by his classmates. Seeing this heartbreaking scene, they immediately informed the hall administration. When the hall authorities informed the university administration and the police, the police reached the spot and recovered the body.

In this regard, the university's proctor Professor Dr. AKM Rashidul Alam said, we reached the spot immediately after receiving the news. The necessary legal procedures to recover the body are being completed in the presence of the police. However, it is not possible to say for sure right now whether it was suicide or there was some other reason behind it.
