Jubo Dal leader hacked to death in Jashore

A Jubo Dal leader named Rubel Hossain, 38, has been hacked to death in Bagherpara upazila, Jashore, over a previous enmity. The incident occurred on Monday morning, July 13, at 11:20 am in front of a vehicle weighing scale adjacent to the Khajura petrol pump.

Rubel Hossain was a resident of the Teli Dhanapora village near the Khajura petrol pump. He was the son of late Muntaj Dhali and a former joint secretary of Bandabhila Union Jubo Dal in Bagherpara upazila.

Police and local sources said Rubi, son of Abdur Rob from the same area, attacked Rubel with a sharp weapon, hacking him indiscriminately. Rubi is the husband of Rubel's younger sister's sister-in-law.

Locals rescued the critically injured Rubel and took him to Jashore General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Bagherpara Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shah Jalal Alam said the body has been sent for autopsy, and police are investigating the exact cause of the murder.
