Jubo dal leader killed, 10 injured in Narsingdi clash

A Jubo Dal leader was killed and at least ten others injured after renewed clashes over territorial control in the char area of Alokbali, Narsingdi Sadar, on Monday, September 29.

The deceased has been identified as Sadeq Hossain, 42, joint convener of the union Jubo dal and son of Rup Mia of Muradnagar village in Alokbali union. He died after being shot during an outbreak of violence between two rival groups, local sources said.

Additional superintendent of police (ASP) Kalim Ullah confirmed the matter and said several people were wounded. He added that the situation has been stabilised and additional police have been deployed to prevent further incidents.

This month alone, two other people; Idn Mia and Ferdousi Begum were previously killed in separate clashes in the same union, bringing the total fatalities in the area to three.
