Jubo League activist murdered by slitting throat in Jashore

A local Juba League activist was forcibly taken from his home and killed by having his throat slit in Daulatdihi village, Kashimpur Union, Jashore. The incident occurred around midnight on Tuesday, August 12.

The victim, Rezaul Islam, son of Golam Torofdar from Daulatdihi village in Kashimpur Union, was reportedly taken from his residence by a group of unidentified assailants around midnight. According to local sources, the attackers slit his throat near his home and left his body at the scene.

Law enforcement officials arrived promptly after receiving the report and recovered the body. It was later sent to the morgue at Jashore General Hospital for autopsy.

Residents of the area said Rezaul was actively involved in Jubo League politics and was regarded as a local-level leader, although his official position within the organization could not be confirmed. He was reportedly facing multiple legal cases at the time of his death.

The incident has triggered widespread panic in the community, with locals expressing concern over rising violence and insecurity.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Hasnat of Jashore Kotwali Police Station stated, “We are investigating the incident thoroughly and are working to apprehend those responsible as quickly as possible.”
