Jubo League leader hacked to death in Bhairab

Md. Al Amin Saikat, 40, a former municipal councilor and a leader of the Jubo League unit that had been banned from operating, was killed in an attack by miscreants using sharp weapons in Bhairab, Kishoreganj.

The incident occurred around midnight in front of the Gopal Jiu Temple in the Tinpatti area of ​​Bhairab town on Sunday (August 23). He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition, where doctors in the emergency department declared him dead.

The deceased, Al Amin Saikat, was the son of the late Jashimuddin from Bhairabpur village. He served as the General Secretary of the Bhairab Municipal Jubo League and was a former councilor of the Bhairab Municipality.

Md. Bakibillah, the deceased's brother-in-law, stated that Saikat was standing in front of the Gopal Jiu Temple around midnight on Sunday when four to five unidentified individuals launched a surprise attack on him. They severely injured him by hacking him indiscriminately with sharp weapons before fleeing the scene.

Upon receiving news from locals, relatives rescued him and initially took him to a local hospital. When his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 3:00 AM for advanced treatment.

Inspector Md. Faruk, in-charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp, confirmed that Al Amin Saikat was declared dead by emergency department doctors upon arrival. His body has been kept at the hospital morgue, and the relevant police station has been informed of the incident.
