Jubo Dal leader, who carried sharp weapons during KUET clash, expelled
Mahbubur Rahman, a leader of the Daulatpur Upazila branch of Jubo Dal in Khulna, has been expelled from the organization for possessing sharp weapons during a clash between KUET students and Chhatra Dal activists.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by Nurul Islam Sohel, the central office secretary of Jubo Dal, on Tuesday nightt.
According to the statement, Mahbubur Rahman, vice president of Daulatpur upazila Jubo Dal, was expelled for engaging in activities against party discipline. The party will not take responsibility for any wrongdoing by the expelled leaders. Additionally, all Jubo Dal leaders and activists have been instructed not to maintain organizational ties with him.
Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Noyon have already enforced this decision.
It is important to note that the day before, a clash and chase occurred between Chhatra Dal activists and general students at KUET over the demand to ban student politics on campus. At least 50 students were injured in the incident.
During the hour-long confrontation, several individuals were seen wielding sharp weapons against the students. Among them, a person dressed in a half-sleeved shirt, with his face covered by a scarf and holding a ramda (large machete), was identified by locals as Jubo Dal leader Mahbubur Rahman.
