The Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JAKSU) elections will be held using the OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) ballot system, the JUCSU Election Commission announced on Wednesday.

According to the commission, a total of 13,300 ballot papers have been printed for 11,897 registered voters. Voting will take place across 21 centers, with 224 booths set up to facilitate the process. The election will be overseen by 21 returning officers, 67 polling officers, and 67 assistant polling officers.

For security, 1,200 police personnel will be deployed at key university entrances and other critical locations, though most will be stationed outside the campus. Ansar members will manage security at the polling centers.

To ensure smooth monitoring, around 80 CCTV cameras have been installed across the polling centers. The Election Commission will supervise the voting environment through these cameras.

A monitoring team comprising senior faculty members, the proctorial body, and campus security personnel will oversee the entire campus, supported by two magistrates on duty.

Regarding ballot papers, three sheets have been printed for the JAKSU elections, two sheets for two specific halls, and one sheet for the remaining halls.
