The vote counting for the Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (JUCSU) and Hall Parliament elections is underway.

As of Friday morning (September 12), votes from 12 of the 21 residential halls had been counted, with the remaining 9 still being processed.

The final tally for the Central Parliament will begin once the votes for all halls have been counted.

An Election Commission official stated that the vote counting is happening at two separate tables, under the supervision of polling agents, primarily from the Hall Parliament candidates.

However, early in the morning, the process was temporarily halted due to the absence of candidate agents from some halls. Counting continued in the halls where agents were present.

Voting for the elections took place on Thursday, from 9.00am to 5.00pm, across 21 residential halls of the university. Afterward, the ballot boxes were transported to the Senate building, where the counting began shortly after 10.00pm.

Professor Kho. Lutful Elahi, a member of the Election Commission, told reporters that it is unlikely the counting for the Central Parliament will begin before Friday prayers, suggesting that the results may be announced after noon.

Professor Elahi also mentioned that the teachers and officials overseeing the process have been on duty throughout the day and are now returning to the Senate building, which has slowed the counting process somewhat due to fatigue.
