Voting for the Central Students' Union (JUCSU) and Hall Parliament elections at Jahangirnagar University concluded on Thursday (September 11), amid reports of chaos and complaints.

Yet long queues of eager students remained outside several polling centres.

Polling was held uninterrupted from 9am to 5pm across 224 booths in 21 halls of the university.

A total of 1,534 police personnel, along with 7 BGB platoons and 5 Ansar platoons, were deployed across the campus to maintain order.

Movement restrictions were imposed from 6pm on September 10 to 12 noon on September 12, closing all university entrances except those adjacent to Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall and the marginal gate.

Certain campus shops and commercial areas were ordered closed during the election period, although residential hall canteens and essential shops remained open with sufficient supplies.

Motorcycles were banned from campus from 6pm on September 11 to 12 noon on September 12, except those used for security or essential services. Only vehicles with university or Election Commission stickers were allowed entry, while staff buses could enter only through the peripheral gate.
