Speaking as the chief guest at a commemorative event held at the Chattogram District Shilpakala Academy on Saturday (July 26), Faruk-e-Azam said that July fighters have been officially recognized, and measures have been taken to support them through financial and medical aid.
According to the new structure: Category A fighters will receive Tk 20,000 per month; Category B fighters will receive Tk 15,000; Category C fighters will receive Tk 10,000.
Additionally to monthly allowances, one-time financial support, identity cards, and certificates will also be issued to the recognized July fighters.
To facilitate their welfare, a dedicated directorate under the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has been established on the 10th floor of the ministry. Led by an additional secretary and staffed with 20 officers, the directorate is tasked with handling rehabilitation and support services. July fighters will also be entitled to lifelong free treatment at government hospitals.
The event was organized by the group 'Warriors of July, Chattogram,' and attended by various dignitaries including Chattogram Civil Surgeon Dr Jahangir Alam and relatives of the martyrs.
