Kalabagan police station SI missing, message sent across country
A Sub-Inspector (SI) of the capital's Kalabagan Police Station has gone missing. The missing policeman has been identified as Rakibul Hasan Sarkar, 32. A General Diary (GD) has been filed with the police station in this regard.
Police said that he has not been found since the afternoon of last Tuesday (April 28).
According to police sources, Rakibul Hasan left a temporary barracks in the Kathalbagan area in civilian clothes around 5:30pm that day without joining his scheduled duty. Since then, his whereabouts are unknown. The mobile phone he used has also been found switched off.
The missing SI's home is in Bapta village of Sreepur upazila. According to his personal description, he is of fair complexion, has a round face, is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and has short and black hair.
Ramna Division Deputy Police Commissioner Masud Alam Rahman said the incident is being investigated seriously. Quoting family members, he said that Rakibul had gone missing several times before.
However, his wife claims that there was no family dispute between them and the marital relationship was normal.
Meanwhile, a radio message has been sent from Kalabagan police station to all police stations in the country to find the missing SI. The police have requested that anyone who has any information about him should inform the nearest police station.
