Kazi Imdadul Haque appointed new BSTI Director General

The government has appointed Kazi Imdadul Haque as the new Director General (DG) of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) on a contractual basis.

The appointment was announced in a gazette notification issued on Thursday (April 30) by the Contract and Foreign Recruitment Wing of the Ministry of Public Administration.

The notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Md. Golam Rabbani, was issued by order of the President.

According to the notification, Kazi Imdadul Haque has been appointed with the status of a secretary for a period of one year from the date of joining, under Section 49 of the Government Service Act, 2018. During his tenure, he will not be allowed to engage in any other profession, business, or employment relationship with any public or private entity.

It also stated that other terms and conditions of the appointment will be determined through a formal contract and that the order has been issued in the public interest.

Currently, the additional duties of the BSTI Director General is being carried out by M A Kamal Billah, an additional secretary of the State-Owned Corporations Division under the Ministry of Industries, who was assigned the role on December 28.
