key associate in Osman Hadi attack placed on 7-day remand

A Dhaka court on Tuesday approved a seven-day remand for Kabir, a close associate of main suspect Faisal Karim Masud, in connection with the attempted assassination of Inqilab Mancha Spokeperson Sharif Osman Hadi.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate MD Hasibuzzaman passed the order on Tuesday (December 16), after hearing the arguments, confirmed Public Prosecutor Md. Kaiyum Hossain.

Earlier, Inspector Faisal Ahmed of the Detective Police (Motijheel Zone) filed a request for a 10-day remand to interrogate Kabir thoroughly.

The remand application stated that the attack on Sharif Osman Hadi was aimed at demoralising candidates, creating political confusion, and influencing the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections. Kabir went into hiding following the incident and is considered a key collaborator of the prime accused, Faisal Karim Masud.
