Khaleda Zia among 9 female candidates in BNP's initial list

BNP has announced a list of 237 candidates for the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections. Of the candidates, nine are women.

Of them, Khaleda Zia alone will contest from three constituencies -- Dinajpur-3, Bogura-7 and Feni-1.

Other female candidates who have received nominations are:

Farzana Sharmin in Natore-1, Most Sabira Sultana in Jashore-2, Israt Sultana Elen Bhutto in Jhalokati-2, Sansila Zebrin in Sherpur-1, Afroza Khan Rita in Manikganj-3, Sanjida Islam Tuli in Dhaka-14, Shama Obaed Islam in Faridpur-2 and Most Tahsina Rushdir in Sylhet-2.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir began announcing the names of the party candidates through a press conference at BNP Chairperson's political office in Gulshan on Monday (November 3) afternoon.
