Khaleda Zia made important contributions to the country: Shakib Al Hasan

National team star cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

In a social media post on Tuesday morning, Shakib wrote, “Former prime minister of Bangladesh and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia passed away at six this morning. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”

In his condolence message, Shakib Al Hasan extended heartfelt sympathies to the late leader’s family and relatives. He said that during her long political life, Begum Khaleda Zia made important contributions to the country.

He further wrote, “At this moment of grief, I express my deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. May Allah grant forgiveness to her soul. I request everyone to pray for her.”
