Khaleda Zia’s Gayebana Janaza held across Bangladesh

‘Gayebana Janaza’ and ‘Doa Mahfil’ for BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia were held across the country. BNP leaders, activists, supporters and ordinary people from all walks of life participated in these funerals in various districts and upazilas including the capital Dhaka on Wednesday (December 31).

A funeral was held at Altafunnesa Sports Ground in Bogura city at 3:30 pm. People from different classes and professions participated in it, regardless of party affiliation. After the funeral, devotees prayed for the forgiveness of Khaleda Zia's soul.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials participated in the funeral held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul was also present.

The funeral held in Dhaka was broadcast live on LED TV in Rangamati. Expressing solidarity with the televised funeral, party leaders and activists and the general public participated in the Gayebana Janaza at the initiative of the district BNP.

Another Gayebana Janaza was held at the Ishwarganj Big Sports Ground in Mymensingh at 2:30 pm at the initiative of the Upazila BNP. BNP leaders and activists, including people from different classes and professions, participated in it.

A Gayebana Janaza was held after Zohar prayer at the grounds of Bheramara Government Pilot Secondary School in Kushtia. Maulana Nahidul Islam led the funeral prayer. People from all walks of life, including leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations, participated in it.

A Gayebana Janaza was held after Zohar prayer at the Collectorate Eidgah ground in Rangpur. Imam Hafez Maulana Md. Hamidul Islam, Imam of Nazirhat Baitul Falah Jame Mosque, led the funeral prayer. More than 2,000 leaders and activists, including officials of the metropolitan BNP and law enforcement agencies, participated in it.

A funeral prayer was held at noon at the Khankhanapur Suraj Mohini Institute School and College ground in Rajbari Sadar Upazila. After the funeral prayer, special prayers and supplications were offered for the forgiveness of Khaleda Zia's soul.

A funeral prayer was held after Zohar prayer at the Boda Government Pilot Model School and College ground in Boda Upazila of Panchagarh under the initiative of the Upazila and Municipal BNP. People from all walks of life participated in the funeral prayer and special prayers and supplications were offered at the end.
