“Khalpar 2 No. Bridge”—That’s all Rafia can say
A Bangladesh Air Force training fighter jet crashed into the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara, Dhaka. Among the injured is Rafsi Akter Rafia, a fourth-grade student at Milestone School, who is now being treated at Uttara Crescent Hospital. The little girl is unable to say anything except for one phrase: “Khalpar 2 No. Bridge.”
A journalist shared the heartbreaking update on Facebook on Monday afternoon, writing:
“Rafsi Akter Rafia, Class: Four, Code: 2357, Milestone School & College. She can only say ‘Khalpar 2 No. Bridge’ and nothing more. Please help reach her parents. She is currently at Uttara Crescent Hospital.”
The crash occurred shortly after 1 PM on Monday, when a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft fell onto a building of Milestone School and College in Uttara and burst into flames. The building was occupied by many schoolchildren at the time, most of whom were injured or killed.
