Khelaghar celebrates Rabindra-Nazrul-Sukanta Jayanti

The Central Khelaghar Asor celebrated the Jayanti of Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, and Sukanta Bhattacharya with a lively programme of songs, poetry, dance, and discussions, featuring performances by children, teenagers, and organisers.

The event was held on Saturday (July 26) at Khelaghar’s office in New Eskaton, Dhaka. Dr. Makhduhma Nargis Ratna, Acting Chairperson of the Khelaghar Central Committee, presided over the ceremony. Special guests included writer and children’s author Kaiser A. Chowdhury, who is also the Chairman of Arab-Bangladesh Bank, and Professor Kajal Bandyopadhyay from the English Department of the University of Dhaka.

Speakers at the event included Professor Niranjan Adhikari, member of Khelaghar’s Central Presidium; General Secretary Pronoy Saha; Executive Member Engineer Amal Nag; and Dr. Shahadat Hossain Nipu.

The event was hosted by editorial board members Aniket Acharya and Gobinda Bagchi. Other participants included Presidium member Hannan Chowdhury, former acting General Secretary Shahabul Islam Babu, Assistant General Secretary Advocate Sunil Sarkar Mintu, editorial board members Probir Saha, Ashokesh Roy, Nasru Kamal Khan, as well as members Samina Jahan, Orpheus Chowdhury, Jahangir Adel, and others.

Later, guided by Shilpi Saha, children, teenagers, guardians, and Khelaghar organisers presented poetry recitations, songs, and dance performances.
