Khelaghar forms human chain protesting continued child abuse

The central Khelaghar Asar has formed a human chain to protest the brutal murder of child Asia and the continued abuse of girls across the country, and to demand exemplary punishment for the abusers.

The national children and adolescents’ organisation has also called for the security of the country's children, development of the education system and the creation of a humane society.

Children, teenagers, guardians and cultural activists participated in this human chain in front of the National Press Club on Saturday (March 15) morning.

They demanded good medical care for children, shaping a bright future for dropout children and timely and speedy delivery of textbooks to everyone.

They also emphasised the development of Bengali culture among children, preventing human and moral degradation among people through humanist philosophy and instilling patriotism.

Acting chairman of the presidium of the Khelaghar central committee Dr Makhduma Nargis Ratna, general secretary Pranoy Saha, presidium member Professor Niranjan Adhikari, Principal Sharif Ahmed, freedom fighters Shafiqur Rahman Shahid and Hannan Chowdhury, Secretariat members Probir Saha and Hafizur Rahman Mintu and journalists Rajan Bhattacharya, Sahana Akhter Lucky, Saifuzzaman Shovon, Orpheus Chowdhury, Samina Chowdhury, Md. Adel, Rafiquzzaman Nayon, and Ruma Rani Ghosh, among others, addressed the human chain.
