Land Minister orders strict adherence to integrity, constitutional duties
Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu has instructed the administration to perform duties with integrity, efficiency and a strong sense of constitutional responsibility.
He gave the directive at a meeting organised by divisional and district administrations at the Rajshahi Circuit House conference hall on Friday morning.
“I am a son of Rajshahi soil. We are colleagues — none of us is anyone’s boss. You are entrusted with constitutional responsibilities and must discharge them properly,” the minister said. He stressed that the law is equal for all and necessary action must be taken against anyone who violates it.
Warning that negligence in duty will not be tolerated, he called for administrative activities to be conducted based on honesty, competence and efficiency. He also urged officials to ensure respectful behaviour toward citizens and maintain a service-oriented mindset.
To prevent public suffering during Ramadan, the minister directed coordinated initiatives in market monitoring, law and order and public services. He also called for a strict stance in implementing a zero-tolerance policy against drugs.
The minister said all government offices would operate within the constitutional framework in the post-election period and that the law would take its own course. He emphasised strengthening development activities, including canal excavation and tree plantation programmes.
Divisional Commissioner Dr A N M Bazlur Rashid chaired the meeting. Among others present were Rajshahi-3 MP Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon, Rajshahi Range DIG Mohammad Shahjahan, Rajshahi Medical College Hospital Director Brig Gen PKM Masud-ul-Islam, Deputy Commissioner Afia Akhter and Superintendent of Police Mohammad Naimul Hasan.
Participants highlighted various grassroots challenges and prospects and expressed hope that the exchange would strengthen transparency, accountability and coordination in administrative activities.
