The government has sent Md Abdus Sabur Mondal, chairman of the Land Reforms Board, into forced retirement, citing public interest. A notification in this regard was issued by the Public Administration Ministry on Thursday (28 November). The notification stated that Sabur had completed 25 years of service, leading the government to send him into retirement in the public interest, as permitted by Section 45 of the Public Service Act-2018. As per the law, the government can retire any public servant or a public servant can voluntarily on completion of 25 years in service before the normal retirement at the age of 59 in the public service.

ভূমি সংস্কার বোর্ডের চেয়ারম্যান (সচিব) মো. আব্দুস সবুর মণ্ডলকে বাধ্যতামূলক অবসরে পাঠানো হয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার (২৮ নভেম্বর) তাকে বাধ্যতামূলক অবসর দিয়ে জনপ্রশাসন মন্ত্রণালয় থেকে জারি করা এক প্রজ্ঞাপনে এ বিষয়টি জানানো হয়। প্রজ্ঞাপনে বলা হয়, আব্দুস সবুর মণ্ডলের চাকরিকাল ২৫ বছর পূর্ণ হয়েছে এবং সরকার জনস্বার্থে তাকে সরকারি চাকরি থেকে অবসর দেয়ার প্রয়োজন বলে বিবেচনা করেছে। তাই 'সরকারি চাকরি আইন, ২০১৮' এর ৪৫ ধারায় দেয়া ক্ষমতাবলে সরকার তাকে অবসর দিয়েছে। এতে আরও বলা হয়, তিনি বিধি অনুযায়ী অবসরজনিত সুবিধাদি পাবেন। অবসরে যাওয়ার আগে মাদকদ্রব্য নিয়ন্ত্রণ অধিদপ্তরের মহাপরিচালক, জনপ্রশাসন মন্ত্রণালয়ের নিয়োগ পদোন্নতি ও প্রেষণ এপিডি অণু বিভাগের অতিরিক্ত সচিব, বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি মন্ত্রণালয়ের সচিবের দায়িত্ব পালন করেন আব্দুর সবুর মণ্ডল। এর আগেও বিগত সরকারের সময়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদগুলোতে থাকা কর্মকর্তাদের ওএসডি ও বাধ্যতামূলক অবসরে পাঠায় অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকার।
