Laundered money brought back to be spent on family, farmer cards: PM

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that money laundered from the country will be brought back and used for the welfare of the people through family cards and farmer cards.

He said this at a family card distribution ceremony at Shaheed Zia Degree College ground in Bogra on Monday (April 20).

The Prime Minister said that lakhs of crores of taka were laundered during the past fascist era. That laundered money will be brought back from abroad and used for the welfare of the people.

He also said that this money will be used for the benefit of the common people through family cards and farmer cards.

Regarding women's empowerment, he said that the country will not progress if mothers do not move forward. Along with men, women must also become self-reliant for the development of the country.

He said that family cards will be distributed among women in 23 more upazilas this month. There is a plan to reach about 4 crore families in the country in the next five years.

At the event, he also spoke about the measles outbreak and commented that child deaths have occurred due to the weakness of the vaccination system of the past and recent governments.

On this day, family cards were distributed among 911 women in Bagbari, Gabtali, Bogra.
