Leftist student organisations suspend procession
Leftist student organisations suspended their scheduled procession and held a brief rally in the capital on Saturday, demanding justice for ongoing incidents of rape and murder and the removal of the home adviser, calling him 'a failure' in maintaining law and order.
At 11:30am, leftist activists gathered at the Central Shaheed Minar for the procession.
However, considering the overall situation in the country, they decided to suspend it and instead presented a seven-point demand in a brief rally.
Their seven-point demand includes: ensuring justice for the continuous incidents of rape, oppression, and murder; the removal of the home adviser; justice for the July-August killings; prosecution of those involved in attacks on temples, mosques, and shrines; justice for the murder of lawyer Alif in Chittagong; justice for all killings during the Awami League's tenure, including Sagar-Runi, Tonu, Afsana, and Munia; and punishment for those involved in attacks and looting against Hindu and indigenous communities.
