Legal notice to Nasiruddin Patwari for derogatory remarks against PM, daughter

A legal notice has been sent to Nasiruddin Patwari over allegations of making derogatory and defamatory statements against Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his daughter Jaima Rahman.

The notice was sent by AKM Azizul Haque Khan, a Public Prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Commission and a lawyer at the Mymensingh Judge Court.

The notice stated that Patwari recently made objectionable and defamatory remarks against the Prime Minister and his daughter, which has hurt the sentiments of millions of people in the country. The sender of the notice also expressed that he himself was deeply hurt by the remarks.

In a Facebook post, Advocate AKM Azizul Haque Khan further stated that Patwari has been asked to provide a written explanation within 15 days as to why a defamation case should not be filed against him.

If no response is received within the stipulated time, legal action will be taken against him in court, the notice warned.
