Light rain likely in Dhaka, temperature to remain unchanged

Dhaka is likely to experience a partly cloudy sky today with a chance of light rain. However, the temperature is expected to stay the same, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department reports.

In a forecast released by the Meteorological Department’s Storm Warning Center on Thursday morning (August 28), it was stated that from 7 AM onwards, Dhaka may experience intermittent cloud cover with a possibility of light rain. Winds are expected to blow at 10 to 15 km/h from the south or southeast.

As per the data, the temperature recorded at 6.00am today was 27.9°C, with 85% humidity. The minimum temperature was 27.5°C, and the maximum temperature recorded yesterday was 35°C. Light rain has been recorded in Dhaka in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, in the 24-hour forecast released on Wednesday, it was mentioned that temporary gusty winds and light to moderate rain or thunderstorm showers could occur in many areas of Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions, while some areas of Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions might also experience similar weather. Heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions.

The forecast also mentioned that the daytime temperature across the country might drop slightly, but no significant change in nighttime temperatures is expected.
