Light rain likely in Dhaka, temperature to remain unchanged

Dhaka is expected to see partly cloudy skies with light rain today, while the Bangladesh Meteorological Department says daytime temperatures will remain largely unchanged.

In the forecast for the next six hours from 7.00am on Saturday (August 30), it was said that winds may blow from the south and southwest at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour.

According to the Met Office, at 6 am the temperature in Dhaka was 27.5 degrees Celsius with 89 percent humidity. On the previous day, the highest temperature was 34.2 degrees Celsius and the lowest was 27.3 degrees Celsius. In the last 24 hours, only 2 millimeters of rainfall was recorded in Dhaka.

Meanwhile, the nationwide forecast said that by 6 pm today, many areas in Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions, and some areas in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds. Some places in Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions may see heavy rainfall.
