The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has said that light to moderate fog may develop over Dhaka and its surrounding areas in the next few hours, with a slight drop in daytime temperature expected.

In its forecast issued from 7:00am on Tuesday (December 23) for the next six hours, the BMD said the sky may remain partly cloudy until noon, while weather conditions are likely to stay dry. During this period, light to moderate fog may occur in parts of the capital.

The forecast also said light winds from the north or northwest, blowing at 5–10 km per hour, may prevail, potentially lowering daytime temperatures and intensifying the winter chill.

According to BMD data, the temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 16.6°C at 6:00 am, with humidity at 89 percent. The day’s minimum temperature is expected to be 16.5°C. On Monday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 27.5°C. No rainfall was recorded in Dhaka over the past 24 hours.

Sunset in Dhaka is expected at 5:17 pm today, while sunrise tomorrow will be at 6:38am.

In its nationwide outlook, the BMD said most parts of the country may experience dry weather with partly cloudy skies, while daytime temperatures across several regions may fall slightly.
