Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter “misspoke” on not publishing the draft tariff agreement with the United States. Speaking to reporters on Thursday (August 14), Shafiqul Alam noted that while Farida Akhter had raised concerns over the non-publication, withholding a draft bilateral agreement is part of standard diplomatic practice. He added that the interim government remains committed to transparency and will request the US to lift the confidentiality requirement once the tariff agreement is finalized.
