Local BNP men protest NCP's 'mysterious' Cox's Bazar trip
Local BNP leaders and activists have staged protest in front of Cox's Bazar Royal Tulip Hotel over the stay of five top leaders of the National Citizens Party (NCP).
More than a hundred leaders and activists were seen protesting on Tuesday (August 5) afternoon.
Local BNP leaders who participated in the protest said: "We have received news that some NCP leaders and people from a foreign organization have come here. We have come to know that they will hold a secret meeting. So we have come here to protest. We are skeptical about why they have come here on such a bloody day."
However, Sarjis Alam, Nasiruddin Patwari and the NCP media cell have said that none of them have met Peter Haas. The matter is a rumour.
Meanwhile, discussions have started on social media surrounding the NCP leaders' visit to Cox's Bazar. It is being claimed that former US Ambassador in Dhaka Peter Haas is currently staying in Cox's Bazar and NCP leaders have met him.
Earlier, NCP leaders arrived at Cox's Bazar Airport from Dhaka on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at 11:25 am.
