London-Bangla Book Fair Award Ceremony held in Dhaka

The award and certificate distribution ceremony of the "London-Bangla Book Fair Literature and Cultural Competition 2024" was held to inspire patriotism among Bengali-speaking children and youth and to promote the timeless legacy of Bengali culture across the globe.

The event was held at 4:30pm on Friday (18 July 2025) at the Sufia Kamal Auditorium of the Bangladesh National Museum in Dhaka. It was jointly organized by “Srishti Bishwomoy” and the “London-Bangla Book Fair Celebration Council.”

Renowned poet Alfred Khokon attended the event as the chief guest. Among the special guests were eminent journalist Basudeb Dhar, actor and cultural personality Khairul Alam Shobuj, Shamsul Alam Liton, chairman of Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology, and Professor Mostafa Kamal Jatra from the Department of Drama and Theatre at Chittagong University.

The event was presided over by Golam Mostafa, head of the London-Bangla Book Fair Council. Alok Dasgupta, editor of “Srishti Bishwomoy,” delivered the welcome speech. The program was conducted by Rupshree Chakraborty and Soyeb Ahmad.

In the discussion session, the speakers said, “Children are the future of the country. We must advance them not only in education but also in cultural practice. Cultural activities help shape them as better human beings.”

This year, over three hundred children from Bangladesh and different countries around the world participated in the competition. Among them, 40 winners received trophies as awards, and the rest were given certificates of participation.

The speakers expressed their hope that the active participation of children and their vibrant display of cultural talents would help shape an even brighter future for Bangladesh.
