Looted pistol during July movement recovered in Narayanganj
In a special operation in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered a pistol and a cartridge of a shotgun that were looted from the police station during the July movement.
These weapons were recovered from the bushes adjacent to the entrance of the abandoned Monowara jute mill in the RPO Wapda Colony area of Siddhirganj around 1:30am on Tuesday (April 28).
A press release from RAB-11 Sadar Company said that a team of RAB conducted the operation at around 1 am based on a secret tip-off. During the operation, a suspicious packet wrapped in scotch tape was recovered after searching the bushes next to the abandoned jute mill. Later, a 7.62 mm automatic pistol and a cartridge of a 12 bore shotgun were found when it was opened.
RAB claims that the recovered weapon is part of the weapons looted from the police station during the July movement.
The recovered weapons and cartridges were later handed over to the concerned police station. Law enforcement is further investigating the matter.
