Looted pistol recovered from Chawkbazar by RAB-10

RAB-10 has recovered a looted police pistol from an abandoned state in the Chawkbazar area of Old Dhaka. The weapon was recovered from a polythene factory on the ground floor of a three-storey building owned by Kajal Mia in the Jalapatti area near Lalbagh Fort around 11:15 pm on Saturday, July 4.

According to a press release from RAB-10 on Sunday, July 5, the pistol was hidden under a machine in the factory. It was recovered following a raid based on secret information.

RAB claimed the recovered pistol was looted from Shyampur Police Station during the violence on August 5, 2024.

The organisation said the recovered pistol will be handed over to the concerned police station for necessary legal action.

RAB also said its operations to maintain law and order, suppress crime and recover illegal arms and ammunition will continue.
