Election Commissioner (EC) Brigadier General (Retd.) Abul Fazl Mohammad Sanuallah commented that the loss of voting rights was one of the reasons for the rise of mass uprising. He said, "This commission has taken responsibility to organize truly free, fair, festive, and orderly elections. One of the reasons behind mass uprising in July and August was the loss of voting rights. The current commission has taken responsibility in a fragile electoral system. On the other side, there is the blood of our children. Therefore, this commission is committed to holding a free, fair, and orderly election. In this regard, the process of updating the voter list is ongoing."

He made these comments in response to journalists' questions after a meeting organized by the Election Commission in Rajshahi on Monday morning.

Earlier, he was the chief guest at a meeting with election officers and supervisors at the Rajshahi Regional Election Officer's office regarding the update of the voter list and preparations for the 13th National Parliament Election.

Election Commissioner Sanuallah, informing about the preparation for the 13th National Parliament Election according to the interim government's announcement, said, "Those who have reached adulthood but have not been able to vote so far are also waiting for a fair election. Therefore, instructions have been given to officers to ensure that no citizen is deprived of becoming a voter due to optional paperwork or minor complications once they are eligible."

The event was chaired by Rajshahi Regional Election Officer Delwar Hossain, and speeches were also delivered by District Commissioner Afia Akhter.
