LPG prices for May announced, 12kg cylinder unchanged at Tk 1,940
The government has set new prices for private sector liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at the consumer level for the month of May. The price of the most commonly used 12kg cylinder has been kept unchanged at Tk 1,940.
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the new prices through a notification on Sunday evening, May 3.
According to the new price list, prices for cylinders of various sizes have seen slight adjustments. The price of a 5.5kg cylinder has been set at Tk 889, and a 12.5kg cylinder at Tk 2,021.
Prices for larger cylinders have also been announced: 15kg at Tk 2,426, 16kg at Tk 2,587, 18kg at Tk 2,911, and 20kg at Tk 3,234.
Additionally, a 22kg cylinder will cost Tk 3,558, 25kg at Tk 4,043, 30kg at Tk 4,851, 33kg at Tk 5,336, 35kg at Tk 5,660, and 45kg at Tk 7,277.
Previously in April, LPG prices were increased twice — first by Tk 32.30 per kg and then by Tk 17.62 per kg. As a result, the price of a 12kg cylinder rose from Tk 1,728 to Tk 1,940.
Though the price of the 12kg cylinder remains unchanged, slight adjustments have been made to other cylinder sizes, BERC said.
