Lutfuzzaman Babar’s wife withdraws candidacy in Netrokona-4

Tahmina Jaman Shraboni, who submitted her nomination as an independent candidate in the Netrokona-4 (Madan–Mohanganj–Khaliajuri) constituency, has applied to withdraw her candidacy. She is the wife of BNP-nominated candidate and former state minister for home affairs, Lutfuzzaman Babar.

She submitted the withdrawal application at the office of the district returning officer on Saturday morning, January 17. The application was submitted on her behalf by her proposer, Mirza Mukul.

District Commissioner and District Returning Officer Md Saifur Rahman confirmed the matter.

Earlier, in the 2018 national parliamentary election, Tahmina Jaman Shraboni contested from the Netrokona-4 constituency and secured a notable number of votes.

Other candidates in this constituency include BNP nominee Lutfuzzaman Babar, Jamaat-e-Islami Mymensingh Metropolitan organisational secretary Al Helal Talukdar, Islami Andolon Bangladesh candidate Mokhlesur Rahman, and CPB candidate Joly Talukdar.
