Madrasa student's body found near orphanage with injury marks

Police have recovered the body of a madrasa student from beside a residential building of an orphanage in the Namajgarh Madrasapara area of Naogaon town. The body bore injury marks in various places, and police have described the incident as suspicious.

The deceased was identified as Abdullah Al Nirob, 14, son of Rubel Hossain of Chadva village in Atgharia upazila, Pabna. He was a Class VIII student at Namajgarh Gausul Azam Alim Madrasa in Naogaon town.

According to police and local sources, Nirob performed Isha prayers at the mosque adjacent to the orphanage with other residential students on Saturday night around 8:30 pm. Later, around 9:00 pm, he went to his uncle's house in the Rajakpur area of the town for dinner. After finishing his meal, he was seen at a wedding ceremony in Madrasapara on his way back. Some students from the orphanage hostel were also present at that event.

While other students returned to the hostel by 10:00 pm, Nirob did not return. On Sunday morning around 7:00 am, locals spotted his body lying beside the orphanage building and informed the police. Police arrived at the scene and recovered the body.

When contacted, Namajgarh Gausul Azam Madrasa acting principal Jillur Rahman and management committee president Abdus Sattar declined to comment.

Naogaon Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Asaduzzaman said injury marks were found on the victim's body. The matter is being investigated seriously. The body has been sent to Naogaon General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

He further said an investigation is ongoing to determine the actual cause of the incident, and preparations are underway to file a case.
