Police have arrested a madrasa teacher named Saiful Islam in Hakimpur upazila, Dinajpur, following an allegation of raping a student. He was arrested early Monday morning, March 30, from the Banshmuri village in Alihat union of the upazila. The arrested Saiful Islam is a resident of Ayama Rasulpur village in Panchbibi upazila, Joypurhat. He was employed at the Banshmuri Hafezia Madrasa. Hakimpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Zakir Hossain confirmed the matter. He said there is an allegation that the accused teacher raped a student. When the incident became known, locals surrounded and detained him. Police later arrived at the scene and took him into custody. The OC further stated that a case has been filed against him, and he was produced before the court on Monday.

দিনাজপুরের হাকিমপুর উপজেলায় এক শিক্ষার্থীকে বলাৎকারের অভিযোগে সাইফুল ইসলাম নামে এক মাদরাসা শিক্ষককে আটক করেছে পুলিশ। সোমবার (৩০ মার্চ) ভোর রাতে উপজেলার আলীহাট ইউনিয়নের বাঁশমুড়ি গ্রাম থেকে তাকে আটক করা হয়। আটক সাইফুল ইসলাম জয়পুরহাট জেলার পাঁচবিবি উপজেলার আয়মা রসুলপুর গ্রামের বাসিন্দা। তিনি বাঁশমুড়ি হাফেজিয়া মাদরাসায় কর্মরত ছিলেন। হাকিমপুর থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) জাকির হোসেন বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। তিনি জানান, অভিযুক্ত শিক্ষক এক শিক্ষার্থীকে বলাৎকার করেন বলে অভিযোগ রয়েছে। ঘটনাটি জানাজানি হলে স্থানীয়রা তাকে অবরুদ্ধ করে রাখে। পরে পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে তাকে আটক করে থানায় নিয়ে আসে। ওসি আরও জানান, এ ঘটনায় তার বিরুদ্ধে মামলা দায়ের করা হয়েছে এবং সোমবার তাকে আদালতে পাঠানো হয়েছে।
